Project/Product Manager

Job Description:

Sky Global is looking for an energetic and experienced Project/Product Manager with a proven track record of demonstrated judgement and getting the most out of development teams.  This position will straddle project and product management and the successful candidate will have input into priorities and product strategy.   The individual will work closely with the BA on high level release planning, and be responsible for presenting the release requirements to the stakeholder group.   The Project Manager will be given day-to-day control over development driving the team towards the release and managing go-to-market initiatives. This position will report directly to the VP or Product.

Essential Duties:

  • Define all release requirements and communicate them to stakeholders
  • Leadership and Storytelling: communicate “the story” for each release
  • Guide teams on how to get the most out of self organization
  • Remove and communicate impediments to stakeholders
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders on product prioritization
  • Ensure the teams are improving velocity and burndown over time\
  • Manage tech debt trade-offs
  • Track and measure KPI’s for the teams
  • Manage a project and team budget
  • Foster an Agile environment
  • Manage development within the Scrum framework
  • Improve team velocity by removing blockers
  • Foster smooth hand-offs of requirements to the development team
  • Communicate impediments and solutions to stakeholders
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame
  • Hold the team accountable to release schedules
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution within teams and across departments.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3+ years as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product Manager or Project Manager working in fast paced IT environment
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Proven experience leading teams to deliver value
  • Portfolio of projects, products or teams managed in the past
  • Proven track record using KPI’s to inform development prioritization
  • Proven track record moving teams up the maturity lifecycle
  • Experience using JIRA/Confluence with Scrum framework
  • Technical background or applicable development experience
  • Understanding of software architecture, databases, and scaling

  • Experience in QA and test driven development
  • Past experience managing a budget
  • Experience in scaling the Scrum framework from smaller to larger teams
  • Continuous Integration, continuous testing, automated testing, agile games
